Samsung LN46B750 is an updated version of the A750 series introduced in 2008.The model from 2008 was much praised and the new one rises to those expectations and even exceeds them. This HDTV is the best LCD TV that uses conventional backlight and in some areas even better then LED based models from the same brand like B7000 series. So, you decided to buy a LCD TV from the B750 series, good for you, we definitely recommend this models but what size do you need? If you say – bigger is better – then you are wrong. You need to study the room where you are going to place it and then read the LCD TV screen size viewing distance guide to find out which size meets your needs. For this particular model you need an optimal viewing distance of 16ft for SDTV (Standard definition) and 6ft for HDTV (High definition).

How about TOC (Touch of Light)?

Well, let’s start by saying that TOC is a tint of translucent color that appears on the bottom edge of the television set that, depending one every user preferences, can be an improvement in design or not. In our opinion is more about personal preferences.
Looking at this model we can find other design features like the transparent stalk and surrounding the glossy black edges we notice see-through plastic. Similar to the A750 series we have the remote control and the menu.

New features added

This top rated LCD TV has plenty of features to offer. If you like interactive features then Yahoo widgets will definitely blow you away. This user friendly feature places widgets, on a bar found on the bottom of the screen and we are going to enumerate a few: news, sports, whether, Flickr Photos and of course, products from Yahoo. Thanks to its DLNA technology you can access online content directly from your LCD TV. Another great thing about this LCD TV is that you have the possibility to manual tweak a lot of controls. If you don’t know how to properly this have a look at the calibrate your LCD TV guide.

240Hz – best refresh rate –

The main improvement of this HDTV, opposed to the 2008 model, is the 240Hz refresh rate. The older model has a refresh rate of 120Hz. If you are wondering what this means then read the LCD TV 120Hz guide to make an idea. This feature helps when watching fast actions scenes like fast sports or a car chase. This feature is found on many LCD TVs but what makes this one special is the possibility to manual tweak blur reduction and judder.

Performance

This top rated LCD TV displays sharper details, blacker blacks and whiter whites, natural color rendering, better shadow detail and more vibrant colors. The black level is even better then the one found on LED based LCD TVs from the same brand. This area is where Samsung raises the bar making this LCD TV the best one that uses conventional backlight and, as we said before, better then some LED based TVs. Although the black level is great, it doesn’t beat best plasmas or LED-backlit LCD TVs like Samsung A950 and Sony XBR8 .

In the end

In the end we can draw a line and say that this LCD TV is just amazing and probably it will be used as comparison model. If you are looking for a LCD TV with a standard backlight, this is as good as it gets.
